Somehow I got connected with a woman who is in Pennsylvania and was planning a visit to Bangor and wondered where to eat.

Here’s the link to the original connection.

April has been here and gone back home.  Her husband isn’t much on travel, so she brought a friend to share the trip to explore our part of Maine, but mostly to explore the food in our area.

So I turn over things to April, who I asked to write a review of where and what she ate.

Here is a bit about the places we ate while we were in Bangor! My friend had Bagel Central and thought the bagels were unique! She also never had an oatmeal pancake and enjoyed it!

We visited Timber twice and we're very pleased both times! We had the chicken salad BLT and the Vegetable Garden sandwiches, as well as two types of flatbreads. Everything and everyone there was delicious! Oh, and our favorite was their spinach artichoke dip along with the pickle spears they serve with sandwiches!

We went to Evenrood's the same night that the Backstreet boys were in town so there were a lot of loud excited women but we had a great dinner there too. We tried the salmon with dill sauce and the halibut.

As an appetizer, we had the steak and cheese spring rolls.

The atmosphere and meals were perfect and my mixed champagne drink was incredible.

We tried Blaze one night and again, were not disappointed! We had their duck fat fries, so fantastic! We also tried a loaded burger with Mac and cheese on it.

We had to hit up Banging Whoopie where we snagged a few to share there and some to take back home with us! My son ended up eating all of mine and loved them!

Traveling around, stopping at shops we came across, we stumbled into the Coastal Cafe and Bakery in Searsport. We both had the cheddar apple panini and thought it was wonderful. Perfect for walking around on a hot day. Light and refreshing and still savory.

We did go to Bar Harbor but all of the restaurants people recommended opened later and we were there earlier in the day. We did stop at Route 66 when their unique decor caught our eye. We had a lobster quesadilla that was mouth-watering and cool Caesar salads.

Overall the folks who offered us advice were spot on. We only wish we had more time to visit all the spots on our list. Maybe we'll make it back someday to try them all. Thanks, Maine and Bangor residents for all of your kindness. You added to our trip, we loved just trying to spot all the places on our list as we traveled. It was like a restaurant scavenger hunt.

Thanks, April. Glad Mainers were kind to you. But knew they would be. Come again.
