Bangor Superintendent Betsy Webb To Retire in October

Bangor School Department Superintendent Betsy Webb will retire in October.

Webb informed Bangor School Committee members of her decision Wednesday evening.

"Please know I am fully committed over the next four months to the top priorities of reopening plans, building anti-racism and equity, and for a smooth transition of leadership," Webb was quoted as saying in the Bangor Daily News.

Webb will be taking a position as a Libra Professor in the Educational Leadership Department at the University of Maine.

Webb has served as Bangor's superintendent since 2008.
