A Bangor man is facing charges after a domestic disturbance on Westland Street that led to a woman being stabbed.

Bangor Police were called to 40 Westland Street just before 7:30 Wednesday morning, to a report of a domestic disturbance. The woman was quickly taken to a local hospital when responding officers found her injuries to be very serious.

Joshua McAuliffe, 40, was arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he's been charged with attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
