A man was hospitalized after a Bangor police officer shot him during a confrontation on Grove Street Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to a disturbance at about 11 a.m. When they arrived, a man exited a building at 112 Grove Street wielding a weapon.

Officer Dylan Hall fired his duty weapon and shot the man, who has not been identified.

Hall has been a Bangor police officer for just over one year. Hall has been placed on administrative leave

The man was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.

The Maine Attorney General's Office investigates all officer-involved shootings.
