
Bangor, Maine Driver Charged With OUI After Hit And Run Crash
A hit and run crash on Hammond Street in Bangor resulted in two arrests.
Bangor, Maine, Police Investigate Hit and Run Crash on Hammond Street
Bangor Police say Michele Payeur and Nicholas Bennett are facing charges after the incident that happened just before noon on Monday.
Officers were called to Hammond Street for a report of a two-vehicle crash. Witnesses reported seeing one vehicle leaving the scene.

Police located the vehicle and the driver, Payeur.
Bangor, Maine, Police Locate a Man Who Fled the Scene of a Hammond Street Crash
As part of their investigation, officers checked video footage from a nearby home and confirmed that Payeur was driving and that a male passenger fled the scene, after the crash.

Additional calls were received by the police department about a suspicious male near the crash site, and officers located Bennett. He confirmed that he was in the vehicle, and told authorities that the crash happened as the result of an argument.
The police learned that Bennett was on bail conditions banning him from contact with Payeur.

Bangor Police charged both people, as a result of the investigation.
Michele Payeur, 36, of Bangor is charged with operating under the influence and leaving the scene of a crash.
Nicolas Bennett, 37, of Bangor is charged with violation of conditions of release.
There's no report of any injuries in the crash.
