Northern Light Health has announced temporary closure dates for its walk-in care services on Union Street.

Maine's Walk-In Care Departments are Convenient, Especially for Parents

As difficult as it can be to get an appointment with a doctor, these days, walk-in care offers a valuable service. Halfway between emergency rooms and primary care physicians, walk-in care is where you go when you think your child needs stitches in their foot or you're unsure if it's bronchitis or something worse.

Maine's Northern Light Walk-In Care on Union Street is Experiencing Staffing Shortages

Northern Light Health has announced that staffing shortages are forcing some difficult decisions. According to the Northern Light Health website, Walk-in Care on Union Street will be closed on the following dates:

  • Thursday, May 22
  • Tuesday, May 27
  • Wednesday, May 28
  • Thursday, May 29
  • Wednesday, June 4
  • Thursday, June 5
  • Wednesday, June 11
  • Thursday, June 12

On these days, Northern Light Health officials recommend contacting your local primary care physician. If it's an emergency, or you can't wait until you can get an appointment, they say you should go to the Northern Light Health Emergency Department at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
