Bangor, Maine News Update: September 10, 2019

Police are asking for the public's help locating two men who are considered armed and dangerous. Jason Alexander and Jomo White are wanted in connection to a stabbing in Presque Isle on Monday that left one man in critical condition. Anyone with information about their whereabouts should call State or Presque Isle police.

The city of Ellsworth is facing a housing crunch, with businesses like the Jackson Lab Center bringing more jobs, and more residents, to the community. City officials told WVII-TV that the reality is, most new housing projects are being rented out before the construction is even completed.

A new culinary facility in Augusta will live stream cooking classes in hopes of inspiring healthy meals for students. The Maine Department of Education is holding an open house today in Augusta of the classroom that replicates the kitchens found in Maine’s public schools.

Husson University is celebrating the opening of a new facility on its Bangor campus that will help train the next generation of nurses. The new Wellness Learning Center is equipped with new technology, like robotic mannequins that can mimic symptoms like seizures. In addition, the new facility houses low-cost health and free counseling services.

Bangor Greendrinks will hold their monthly party beginning at 5 this evening at Tea and Tarts in Downtown Bangor. The family-friendly party will offer beer, food, and live music by Charlie Butera, along with information about their latest projects to help make Bangor greener.
