The former treasurer of the largest union at Bath Iron works will spend 18 months in prison for embezzling more than 280 thousand dollars in union funds. Ryan Jones pleaded guilty and admitted that he stole the money to support a cocaine addiction.
Governor Paul LePage will give his State of the State address today, addressing a joint session of the Maine Legislature. Last year’s address was broadcast on Facebook because the governor said he wanted to speak to the public, not lawmakers.
St. Joseph’s Hospital is holding a job fair from noon to 7 Thursday, looking to fill a variety of nurses positions. A Bangor-based Barbershop quartet is signing folks up for singing Valentine’s, but they need to get in contact today. The men of the Mainely Music Chorus told TV-5 that they’ve sung for college students in dorm rooms, restaurants, and even for a teacher in front of her class. A Winter Family Fun Day will be held this Saturday at Cobscook Bay State Park in Edmunds. Activities will include ice skating, horse drawn sleigh rides, cross-county skiing and downhill sledding.
