Bangor, Maine News Update: April 29, 2019
Bangor Police say human remains were found off Stillwater Avenue in Bangor on Sunday, in a wooded area near Walmart. Wardens found the remains, which were transported to the State Medical Examiners' Office to determine cause of death and the person's identity.
A Medford Man was hurt in a police-involved shooting on Saturday. Officials say Douglas Hazen had outstanding warrants when he refused to stop for Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office and Milo Police. Officials say, once he stopped, there was an armed confrontation and he was critically injured.
Crews spent Friday night battling an apartment house fire on Warren Street in Bangor. Flames could be seen shooting from the roof at the fire that was called in at around 9:30. No one was hurt and investigators will now work to determine how it started.
An Orrington man is offering a 500 dollar reward for information that leads to the person responsible for dumping trash, including a broken toilet, on his property. Jerry Perkins has always allowed people to use his private Perkins Point Road for recreation, and is hoping someone saw some suspicious activity. A local couple surprised Perkins by cleaning up the mess, but he'd still like to know who left it there.
