
Stolen Vehicle Linked To Bangor, Maine Man’s Bizarre Actions
A series of bizarre events led Bangor Police to arrest a local man for allegedly stealing a car.
Bangor, Maine Man Faces Multiple Charges for 2 Alleged Incidents
Robert Burt, 52,of Bangor, faces multiple charges:
- Theft by unauthorized taking or transfer
- Operating after suspension
- Criminal mischief
Burt was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
Bangor, Maine Police Investigated a Complaint of a Hand Tool Being Thrown at a Car
The first of two separate incidents related to this case was reported just after noon on Thursday.

Bangor Police Officers were called to the intersection of Broadway and State Street for the report of a man walking into traffic and throwing a hand tool at a vehicle.
The vehicle's driver told officers that he chased after the suspect, who was later identified as Burt.
During that pursuit, officials say Burt dropped a medication bottle that had his name on it.
Bangor, Maine Police Trace a Stolen Vehicle to Brewer
At approximately 1:42 pm, Bangor Police received information about a vehicle that had been stolen.
Officer Tyler Stockwell, who was already looking for Burt in connection with the alleged hand tool incident, identified him as the man who allegedly stole the vehicle.
As both incidents were investigated, it was determined that Burt might be in Brewer.
With assistance from the Brewer Police Department, the stolen vehicle was located and returned to its owner.
Sometime later, Bangor Police officers found Burt and took him into custody.
