
Bangor Maine Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting a Child is Dead
A former Taekwondo instructor from Bangor who faced charges for sexually assaulting a child has died.
Former Bangor, Maine Taekwondo Instructor Faced Multiple Charges
John Keeler, 59, was arrested in May, accused of sexually assaulting a child.
News Center reports he was charged with:
- 10 counts of gross sexual assault against a child under 12
- Unlawful sexual contact
- Sexual misconduct with a child
- Unlawful sexual touching
Keeler was taken to jail but was later released on bail.
Maine Court Officials Say the Assaults Happened in 2023
The Penobscot County District Attorney's Office says the assaults happened in 2023, when Keeler was alone with the child.
Maine Police Have Not Commented on Keeler's Cause of Death
WABI-TV reports the 59-year-old man died this week. There's no word yet on his cause or manner of death.
