Bangor Police say a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle sent the cyclist to the hospital with serious injuries.

Bangor, Maine Vehicle Hit a Bicycle Saturday Morning

The name of the bicyclist and vehicle's driver have not been released.

Sergeant Jason McAmbley says the police were called to the scene of the crash at approximately 10:30 am on Saturday. When they arrived at the intersection with Burleigh and Bomarc Roads in Bangor, they found a vehicle and driver, as well as a bicycle and its rider.

The person who had been riding the bicycle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what the police called serious injuries.

Officials say an investigation into the circumstances of the crash indicate that the bicyclist was going around a vehicle that had pulled to the side of the road when he was struck.

Bangor, Maine Driver is Cooperating With Police After Hitting a Bicycle

The vehicle's driver was not hurt in the crash and the police say they are fully cooperating with the investigation.

Bangor Police say no charges have been filed in the incident.
