
Bangor, Maine 3-Car Crash Allegedly Caused By Sleeping Driver
A Massachusetts man allegedly fell asleep before going through a busy Bangor intersection with his kids in the car.

Seth McLaughlin, 40, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, faces multiple charges after the crash that happened Sunday afternoon in Bangor. McLaughlin's two children were passengers in the vehicle.
Bangor, Maine, Police Say 3-Vehicle Crash Allegedly Caused by Sleeping Driver
Police say it was shortly before 4:00 when dispatch began receiving reports of a crash at the intersection of Ohio Street and Griffin Road. Witnesses reported to the police that a vehicle traveling on Griffin Road ran a red light and struck a car that was traveling southeast through the intersection.
That impact propelled his vehicle into a second, which was sitting at the light.
Bangor Police Sergeant Jason McAmbley says Mr. McLaughlin told the investigating officer that he had been awake since the early morning hours and was taking his children back to their mother's house.
Massachusetts Man Faces Multiple Charges After Bangor, Maine, Crash
Seth McLaughlin is charged with:
- Violating conditions of release
- Driving to endanger
- Operating after suspension
- Running a red light
McLaughlin was transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
Two people in the crash were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. All others were treated at the scene.
