The annual Chapin Park Neighborhood block party is planned for Tuesday night in Bangor, complete with a performance by the Bangor Band.

I remember this party so well, from when my kids were little and I used to live on Garland Street in Bangor. It's a fun, family-friendly event in beautiful Chapin Park, which sits between Forest and Parkview Avenues in Bangor. We'd lay a blanket on the grass and have dinner, while listening to the music. Of course, after the recent rain, it might be a better idea to take some folding chairs. This year's event will feature face painting, free hot dogs, lemonade, and soda. Of course, you can't have a block party without ice cream, and today it will be Frank's Bakery Ice Cream.

The Bangor Band will provide the entertainment from 6:45 to 7:45, underneath their beautiful 'Clampitheatre' band shell. In case of rain, the block party will be moved to Wednesday. Find more information on the Bangor Band's website.
