Augusta Police say a Gardiner man is facing charges for a robbery earlier this week at Camden National Bank.

Who is the Suspect?

The robbery happened at approximately 11:30 Saturday morning at Camden National Bank's Armory Street branch. Officials say, Joshua Brougham, 27, of Gardiner allegedly walked into the bank, showed a firearm, and demanded money. He fled the scene before the police arrived at the scene. No one was hurt in the incident.

How Did They Identify Him?

Augusta Police Deputy Chief Kevin Lully says local authorities have been working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations to identify the suspect, including the release of surveillance video images of the robber to the public, in hopes that someone would recognize him, despite the mask.

Once they identified Brougham, authorities found him Wednesday on Eastern Avenue in Augusta and took him into custody.

Brougham is being held at the Kennebec County Jail, with no bail allowed.
