Police in Maine say a man's body was found floating in a lake on Wednesday.

Man's Body Found Floating in Lake Auburn, Maine

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.

Auburn, Maine Police and Fire Departments responded to Lake Auburn at approximately 8:17 am, in the area of 166 Lake Shore Drive.

A passing motorist had noticed a body floating in the water and immediately called 911.

As emergency responders secured the scene, Auburn Fire/Rescue personnel deployed a rescue boat from the Route 4 boat launch.

They were able to successfully recover the individual who's believed to be a 46-year-old man. Again, the man's identity is not being released until next of kin can be notified.

Auburn, Maine Police Have Not Released the Identify of the Man Found in the Lake

Officials say the body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an examination will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.

Auburn Police say the investigation is ongoing but foul play is not suspected.
