Annual Bangor MDA Chili And Chowder Cook Off Canceled

An annual Bangor benefit cook-off has been scrapped.

The Bangor Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 772 8th Annual Chili and Chowder Cook Off has been canceled. The event was postponed, but ultimately canceled, due to the current restrictions on gatherings.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association of Northern New England says "entry fees gathered for the cook off have either been returned to the entrant or put towards next year's entry fee."

Events like the annual Chili Chowder Cook Off are big fundraisers for the organization. MDA of Northern New England adds:

"Please remember your local non-profits like our MDA of Northern New England during this difficult time, as many of them rely on donations to stay afloat, and those have all but dried up. If you can, please consider helping #FillTheBoot online at our Square storefront."

In addition to the cook-off, the Third Annual MDA Open has also been canceled.
