Anah Shrine Postpones Wreath Sale due to Positive COVID-19 Test
The drive-through wreath sale, scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis within the organization.
Anah Shriners have been very innovative about finding ways to celebrate the season, despite the cancellation of their signature Christmas event, the Feztival of Trees. Organizers felt that, with the safety protocols that would have to be followed, they just wouldn't have been able to make it an effective celebration. So, they came up with alternatives.
Plans were in place to sell wreaths for $25 this Saturday, at the Anah Shrine building on Broadway in Bangor. But they've had to postpone it, after a member of the organization tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, the building has been closed for a deep cleaning, and the Wreath Sale has been postponed to run in tandem with the Drive-Thru Santa visits.
Now, on Saturday, November 28th, it will be a very festive celebration at the Anah Shrine building. Between 9am and 3pm, folks can purchase the holiday wreaths without having to get out of their vehicles. And families can drive up next to Santa's sleigh, where he'll be ready to chat with the kids and find out what they really want for Christmas. A separate area will also be set up, if families want to take pictures with their own cameras. All the money raised by the events will help support Shriners Children's Hospitals in Boston and Springfield.
Our thoughts are with our friends at the Anah Shrine, this week. We wish you all a healthy and happy holiday season.
