Southbound service on Amtrak's Downeaster was partially suspended on Tuesday morning.

Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams told Seacoast Current that southbound train #680 struck an "individual on the tracks" west of Main Street in Biddeford around 6:05 a.m. It left Brunswick at 4:30 a.m. The train ended its run in Wells where passengers can transfer to southbound train #682.

Biddeford police told Seacoast Current the victim was a 27-year-old woman but her identity was not disclosed pending notification of family.

Northbound train #681, which was due to leave Boston at 8:50 a.m., has also been canceled. Those passengers can take train #683, which leaves North Station at 11:50 a.m., although there could be delays.

Abrams did not disclose why the individual was on the tracks.
