The annual lineup of horror movies on AMC will feature a nod to The King of Horror.

It's the most wonderfully horrifying time of the year. AMC celebrates Halloween all month long with its annual schedule of horror movies. As is tradition with Fear Fest, one day will feature back-to-back Stephen King classics. Scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m., Saturday, October 9; the day features six King-inspired movie adaptations.

Stephen King Movie Marathon:

  • 9:45 a.m. - The Dead Zone
  • 12:15 p.m. - Thinner
  • 2:15 p.m. - Silver Bullet
  • 4:15 p.m. - The Shining
  • 7:45 p.m. - Carrie (2013)
  • 10:00 p.m. - Carrie (1976)

Fans of Stephen King-inspired movies will have a new one to see soon. Back in May, production began on a reboot of the 1984 film, Firestarter. The movie is derived from the 1980 Stephen King novel by the same name. The story is about a girl who develops the ability to start fires with her mind. She's abducted by a top-secret government agency in an attempt to hardness her pyrokinesis powers to be used as a weapon.

Blumhouse is producing the reworked adaptation. News of the remake project was announced in 2017. The announcement was made at a very appropriate venue, the Overlook Film Festival, at Timberline Lodge in Mt. Hood, Oregon. The exterior of Timberline Lodge was shot to be used as the Overlook Hotel in the film adaptation of The Shining.
