Acadia Rangers & Maine Wardens Save MDI Deer In The Water
A deer on Mount Desert Island almost drown yesterday, but thanks to the efforts of Acadia National Park Rangers and Maine Game Wardens, it lived to see another day.
Park Rangers and Wardens were called to Hodgdon Pond this past Wednesday when someone noticed that a deer had broken through the ice quite a ways offshore and was struggling for its life. Hodgdon Pond is off Route 102 by Petty Marsh.
Eventually everyone was able to pull the deer back to shore. An Acadia National Park press release tells us that the deer appeared to be extremely cold and exhausted, but alert.
Good job, everyone!
