Mainers will be among those watching and waiting Wednesday night to see if they might be a lot richer on Thursday.

With the $700 million Powerball drawing -- the second largest in history -- set for 10:59 p.m. Wednesday, Maine Lottery officials on Tuesday issued a reminder to play responsibly.

"The excitement is building around the latest Powerball jackpot, and while it is a large jackpot and we want everyone to have fun, we can’t stress enough the importance of playing responsibly," said Michael Boardman, Director of the Lottery Division of the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages & Lottery Operations. "One ticket is all you need so there’s no need to spend more than a couple of dollars."

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The largest Powerball prize ever won in Maine is $2 million.

What would you do with all that money?
