After a Great White shark attacked a woman off the coast of Maine, we decided to do some research on what other species live in our waters.

The fatal shark attack off Bailey Island has a lot of people eyeing the ocean in a different way. Who knew Great White's ever came into Maine? But, the fact is, while shark attacks are very rare, there are some dangerous (and more that are not so dangerous) species swimming in our offshore waters. And now that residents have been asked to keep an eye out for sharks off the coast, we consulted with the Maine Department of Marine Resources and the NOAA and came up with seven different species you might see here.
