With the 2018 Moose Lottery in the books, plans are being made for next year's event.

The Skowhegan Moose Festival this past weekend drew thousands of hunters to the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds. 2,500 lucky hunters were selected for moose permits from a pool of over 54,000 applicants.

Prior to naming the permit winners, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Commissioner Chandler Woodcock announced the 2019 Moose Permit Lottery Drawing will be held at Cabela's in Scarborough.

This will be the third time the town of Scarborough has hosted the annual event.
