Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is recommending that none of the 27 national monuments under review by the Trump administration, including Maine's Katahdin Woods And Waters National Monument, be eliminated.

Zinke told The Associated Press he would recommend to the president Thursday that some changes be made, including boundary adjustments for some monuments.

He said his recommendations would not include reverting any of the sites to state or private ownership.

Zinke said he would also suggest that public access for uses such as hunting and fishing be maintained or expanded.

The review of 27 national monuments created by previous presidents was ordered by President Trump in April.
