Young Man Faces Arson Charges after Fire at NMCC
The fire happened in the early morning hours Saturday at an apartment in Penobscot Hall on the campus of Northern Maine Community College.
The fire started in a bedroom but was quickly put out by the sprinkler system. No one was hurt, but that apartment, and others, sustained water damage.
Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says as a result of the Fire Marshall's office investigation 22 year old Paul Wasson is charged with arson.
Wasson is not a student at NMCC but was visiting another student on campus.
Wasson's expected to make a court appearance today.
