One of the most recorded songs in history was recently performed by three of country music's female superstars: Kelly Clarkson, Trisha Yearwood, and Reba McEntire. Where would our treasured Christmas season be without 'Silent Night.' It was on Christmas Eve in 1818, that 'Silent Night' was first performed by its German creator, Franz Xaver Gruber.

Can you imagine if song royalties existed at that time? Gruber would probably be one of music's richest individuals.
