A Woodland man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling bath salts in Aroostook County.

Lance Ellison, 45, was sentenced in Aroostook County Superior Court in Houlton on Wednesday.

Prior to sentencing, Ellison pleaded guilty to a number of charges, including aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Approximately 2 kilograms of bath salts, more than $28,000 in cash and two firearms were seized from Ellison's home in February 2014.

A news release sent out by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Wednesday said Ellison "was believed to be a major dealer of bath salts that were sold in Aroostook County."

In the release, MDEA Director Roy McKinney and Aroostook County Sheriff Darrell Crandall said "It is difficult to measure the impact caused by Ellison’s actions."
