State Police say a Burnham woman who called 911 about a home invasion died while sitting in a car outside the residence.

WABI-TV reports 72-year-old Joyce Wood made the call early Sunday morning. She told the 911 operator that there was an intruder in her house on the South Horseback Road. Sometime before the Troopers reached the scene, the woman's family arrived and placed her in a car in the driveway. Wood died while sitting in the vehicle. An autopsy has been conducted but police are not releasing details about how she died.

Troopers found a female suspect in the house shortly after arriving. She's said to be cooperating with police. So far, no charges have been filed but police say the investigation is continuing and the woman will likely be interviewed again.
