An elderly woman has died at the hospital following a two-car accident. Five people were injured in the crash. Police say no charges will be filed.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that Anne Brown, age 84 of Thorndike passed away earlier this week at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. She was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Willard Brown, age 81 on August 29th.

Police say Mr. Brown pulled out onto Route 3 in Searsmont and into the path of another car, driven by Peter Kassen, age 58 of Lincolnville. Kassen, his wife Margaret Kassen, 57, and their 21-year-old daughter Hope were all injured, along with the two Browns. All the other victims have since been released from the hospital.
