A Lincolnville woman faces charges for setting a stolen van on fire next to a Cape Elizabeth garage.

The State Fire Marshal's office has charged Melanie Vangel with two counts of arson and one count of unauthorized use of property. Investigators say she stole a van from Rockport, drove it to New Hampshire, and then parked it next to a garage at 2 Light Terrace in Cape Elizabeth, and set the vehicle on fire Saturday.

The 2014 Town and Country was destroyed and the building sustained several thousand dollars' worth of damage. Vangel was arrested late Saturday night in Cape Elizabeth. Investigators say the van was stolen either late Friday night or early Saturday morning from Rockport.

Cape Elizabeth and Rockport police were also involved in the investigation.
