Woman Accidentally Shot Outside Bath Grocery Store

The Bath Police Department says a woman was accidentally shot in the parking lot of the local Shaw's Supermarket on Monday.

Bath police Lt. Robert Savary said in a press release that the woman was shot in the head and is currently being treated at Maine Medical Center.

Savary says the suspected shooter is an acquaintance of the victim and initial indications are that the shooting was accidental.

The incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.

The name of the victim has not been released.
