Slushy roads early this morning caused a driver to lose control of his vehicle which hit a tree, and then flipped over onto its roof. The driver was not seriously hurt.

Winslow Police report it was around 8:17 Wednesday morning when the accident happened on the Cushman Road. When Winslow Police and Fire personnel arrived, they found driver Christopher Carron, from the town of Rome, able to exit the vehicle on his own. The 28-year-old suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries.

Police say Carron was traveling north when he tried to make a U-turn. When he entered the shoulder of the road, the snowy and slick road conditions caused the vehicle to lose control, spin, and strike a tree.

No charges will be filed against Carron. Morning commuter traffic was slowed for about 45 minutes.
