Will Bangor Have a White Christmas?

Are you dreaming of a White Christmas? If you're in the Bangor area, you should keep your fingers crossed.

According to NOAA Climate.gov, it looks like Bangor has a 61-percent to 75-percent chance of having more than 1 inch of snow on the ground for Dec. 25, 2014.

The probability is based on recent weather history, more specifically from 1981-2010.

The farther north you go, the better your chances of course, with much of Aroostook County almost guaranteed snow on the ground for the holiday.

The folks at NOAA stress that the map above depicts a historical probability of White Christmas. Weather events vary dramatically from year to year, so current weather forecasts are the best indicator of whether snow will be on the ground.
