A wheelchair basketball tournament this Sunday will benefit a group that helps people with disabilities live independently. Teams from around the area will compete against Husson students and staff in a fun day of basketball for a great cause and they hope you'll stop by!

For 17 years, the tournament has helped raise funds and awareness for Alpha One, which assists more than 6,000 people of all ages annually. And their clients have a range of disabilities, including mobility impairments, traumatic brain injury, deafness, blindness, other vision and hearing impairments, developmental disabilities, mental illness, and AIDS. Their services include advocating for, and implementing systems change to overcome the barriers that prevent people with disabilities from living independently.

This Sunday, beginning at noon, wheelchair basketball teams from around the area will take on students and staff at Husson University's Newman Gymnasium. Admission to the tournament is free, but proceeds from the concessions and raffle tickets will benefit Alpha One. We hope you stop by!
