What’s Wrong With This Picture?

Growing up we had lots of pets - cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, hamsters, turtles, basically any kind of animal that didn't require a permit to own. I remember pet ownership being easy when I was a kid. But now that I'm living it as a parent, it's not the walk-in-the-dog-park that I remembered.

Take a look at this photo. No, look more closely. While the happy girl gleams as mama snaps a photo, check out what's happening in the background behind her. Yes, it was a playful mauling. But it's impossible to keep toddlers and puppies from rough-housing each other. They should both be in their own crates - HA!
