Before just about every 2016 Olympics race, whether it be a medal or qualifying swim, decorated athlete Michael Phelps is shown getting in the zone with a pair of headphones locked on his ears. So, what's he listening to?

None other than the Chief himself, Eric Church, apparently.

In an article in the New York Timesit's revealed that Phelps has a steady stream of  a "mix of songs from Eminem, Young Jeezy and a more recent addition, Eric Church" flowing through his ear buds before he hits the pool.

With songs in his catalogue such as "Drink in My Hand," "The Outsiders," "Creepin'" and so many more upbeat tracks, we understand how that could inspire you to swim your heart out.

But Church isn't the only country singer Phelps rocks out to. In a recent upload of "carpool karaoke" by the entire USA Olympics swimming team, the gold-winning swimmer was shown in Church-like aviators, leading the car filled with athletes in their own rendition of Zac Brown Band's hit country single, "Chicken Fried," while his teammates waved an American flag in the background. Other artists covered during the joy ride included Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jespen and many more.

Phelps is currently competing in Rio as a part of the 2016 Summer Olympics. In his entire career, he has won 23 medals — 19 of them being gold, with his latest win in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay. He will compete for another medal Tuesday (August 9) in the men's 200m butterfly.
