Every state has one. What is Maine's?

Tech site Supercompressor.com is celebrating road-trip season by taking you off the beaten path. They compiled a list featuring (what they believe is) the most underrated tourist attraction in each state.

When I think of an underrated location here in Maine, I think of hidden gems like Fort Knox or Popham Beach State Park.

For Maine, the tech nerds at Supercompressor said Portland is our most underrated tourist attraction. More specifically they recommend the city's Old Port district saying: 'Take a break from the beach and hit up the Old Port section of this harbor city, home to a thriving arts community, amazing food, breweries, and, of course, a sh*t ton of lobster. Just a heads up, like a lot of other things in the state, it's better in the warmer months.'

Other underrated tourist attractions in New England include Massachusetts' Cape Ann, New Hampshire's Isle of Shoals and Vermont's Shelburne Farms.

The site cautioned: 'It's entirely possible that you'll disagree with our picks, so feel free to leave yours in the comments!' I'm pretty sure Mainers can come up with a better one, so feel free the share your suggestion here or on Facebook!
