A local mother was arrested in Brunswick Monday for allegedly driving drunk while her two kids were in the vehicle.

Courtney Ann Clifford, 38, of West Bath, was charged with operating under the influence with one prior conviction and endangering the welfare of a child, reports the Bangor Daily News.

Clifford was pulled over on Bath Road after her SUV veered into oncoming traffic and nearly collided with a Brunswick police cruiser, said Brunswick Police Sgt. Paul Hansen.

Clifford was released on $1,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, July 19.

Her two children, 6 and 9 years old, were released to a family member.
