The National Weather Service has put most of Maine under a winter storm watch as a powerful Nor'easter makes its way to the region.

The latest forecast calls for 12 inches of snow for the Bangor area with lesser amounts predicted for coastal regions.

Some areas could see as much as 16 inches of heavy, wet snow.

The winter storm watch will be in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday night.
