Two men have been charged with theft and criminal mischief for allegedly stealing money from the Mr. Bubbles laundromat on Waterville Road in Skowhegan.

Police responded to reports of a theft at the laundromat on Wednesday. Surveillance footage, which was released on social media, showed two men using tools to extract money from a coin machine, the Skowhegan Police Department said on its Facebook page on Thursday.

Police later received a tip that Robert White, 27, of Waterville, one of the two suspects from the surveillance video, had returned to the laundromat.

Officers responded to Mr. Bubbles, located White and recovered some of the stolen money and the tools that were allegedly used to extract the money from the coin machine, according to the department's Facebook page.

White, who was out on bail for an unrelated charge, now faces new charges of violation of condition of release, criminal mischief, theft and possession of theft devices.

Police say Mark Palang, 36, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who was identified as the second man from the surveillance footage, was charged with theft and criminal mischief.
