Watch How Easily This Porcupine Climbs Down a Tree [VIDEO]

Porcupines seem so awkward and cumbersome. They have all those quills and seem to lumber along when they're walking. But the fact is, they're more agile than you'd think! Watch as this skillful guy (or gal) climbs down a tree in Bangor, despite their bulk.

When I was a kid growing up in Brewer, we had great excitement in our neighborhood one summer day when someone noticed a porcupine in my neighbor's tree. All the kids (me included) were very interested, but the parents were quite concerned. I mean, kids looking up and quills possibly falling...bad combination.

One of the parents asked if the officer could shoot it. He said he would but there were too many kids around and it could be dangerous. His advice? Leave it alone and it will come down on its own. We were all in our homes when he felt comfortable enough to climb out back to ground level. So I found this video interesting. They really are very good in the trees, despite all those nasty quills!
