Maine is rich in its natural resources of timber, and good old fashioned human ingenuity.

While many companies may try to immitate the look of natural wood flooring and furniture, a Millinocket company is providing the real thing from a natural resouce most ignore.

That resource is the timer that rests at the bottom of Maine's rivers and lakes and the company is West Branch Heritage Timber in Millinocket.

Co-Owner Tom Schafer says the fact that it's a local workforce harvesting an otherwise wasted product is a real win-win for Maine. Additionally, Schafer says the furniture and flooring is natural compared to those products on the market that require the use of toxins to achive the look of antiquity.
