A verbal threat against a high school gets a young man in trouble with the law in Washington County.

Washington County Sheriff Donnie Smith said in a press release the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a verbal threat towards Narraguagus High School located in Harrington Tuesday night.

As a result of the investigation, a juvenile male faces terrorizing charges. Sheriff Smith says the juvenile has been given a December arraignment date and issued a Consent of Conditional Release that prevents him from returning to Narraguagus High School, or any other MSAD#37 property.

This response from Superintendent Ronald Ramsay was provided, along with the information about the arrest.

“Our first concern is for the well being of our students. As a result of some rumors and accusations floating around the internet last night that appeared on facebook and other modes of social media.  MSAD#37, in conjunction with local law enforcement, took the appropriate cautionary measures to make sure that all of our students are safe. Law enforcement has been involved and this case is being investigated.  It is inappropriate at this time for me to discuss any specifics of this ongoing investigation other than to ensure to everyone that we are doing all that we can to make sure that our schools are safe."
