At a press conference on Thursday, police updated the media on the investigation into the disappearance of 15-year-old Nichole Cable of Glenburn. Penobscot County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Troy Morton says the tip line has been busy and now the Warden's Service is working to follow up on all the leads.

Morton said over 60 calls have been received by the department since a press conference on Wednesday, during which Cable's mother, Kristine Wiley made an impassioned plea for her daughter's return. He said, "Each tip that comes in is manned and then it is evaluated....each of those leads we take serious when they come in."

The Maine Warden's Service is currently using K-9 Units and planes to follow up on some of those tips, but there is no specific search area at this time. Deputy Chief Morton says they would be very interested in hearing from anyone who happened to be on Route 221, also known as the Hudson Road, between 8:00 Sunday evening and 2:00 Monday morning, between the Pushaw Road and Rogers Market.

Nichole Cable has been missing since Sunday evening, when she told her mother that she was going to the end of the driveway to talk to someone she knew. It's believed she may have been lured away by someone who had hacked an acquaintance's Facebook page. Morton urges that parents be vigilant and caution their children on proper usage of social media.

Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office.
