Police, on Thursday, caught up to a man wanted on several outstanding warrants. When he was apprehended, he had a large fixed-blade knife in his pocket.

Joseph Demmons, 29 of Holden, was being sought by police in connection with 12 outstanding warrants. He has unpaid fines from multiple charges, including operating under the influence and criminal threatening.

He was being sought by the Knox County Sheriff's office because the last time he was seen was in Warren where he ran from police into some woods. Deputies had a tip that he was living in the woods there and went to investigate. All the warrants, however, were issued out of Penobscot County.

On Thursday, Demmons was spotted on Main Street in Bangor, near Shaw's Supermarket, and was caught by police. When officers searched him they found a large fixed-blade knife in his pocket.

Demmons has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, violating his bail conditions, and for the 12 outstanding warrants. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail.
