A man police say is suspected of robbing the Camden National Bank in Waldoboro was arrested 5 years ago for robbing the same bank.

46-year-old Carroll Demmons of Newcastle is accused of walking into the bank yesterday at around 2:30 and demanding money. Police say the suspect was wearing a floppy hat and a nylon stocking over his head during the robbery before fleeing the bank on foot.

WABI-TV reports an investigation led police to Demmons, who was taken to Two Bridges Jail and his bail set at $2,500 cash. A vehicle, cash, and other evidence were seized by police when they took him into custody.

This is not the Newcastle man's first offense, having been arrested in 2012 for robbing the same bank. He's currently charged with burglary and theft.
