Folks are invited to a fun 5K that will help a Meals on Wheels program in Waldo County.

This is such a great time of year to go for a run. And knowing that you're helping housebound folks receive their meals will just make the miles fly by! Saturday, the Miles for Meals Annual 5K begins (and ends) at Hamilton Wharf in Searsport, and will benefit the Meals on Wheels program at Spectrum Generations. The event, that's hosted by the Waldo Community Center, will raise money but also awareness of this important program that works to help end senior hunger in our state.

Cost of registration for the event is only $10 per person and each runner will receive a free t-shirt. There will be on-site registration so you can get signed up on race day. Check-in starts at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 8. To register, or for more information, contact Beth at bseekins@spectrumgenerations.org or call (207) 930-8090.

Lace up your running shoes this Saturday and join in!
