State Police have identified the victim of last week’s homicide and fire at a home in Caribou.

He is 58-year-old Kenneth C. Zernicke, according to a press release Tuesday from Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland. The positive identification was made after the State Police Crime Lab was able to examine Zernicke’s fingerprints.

Caribou firefighters found the body when they arrived at the house at 5 Lower Lyndon Street last Thursday evening.

Maine State Police, working with Caribou Police, continue to investigate Zernicke’s death. They are asking for information from anyone who saw any activity around the house between 6 and 8 p.m on Thursday, September 24 .
