Penobscot Community Health Care in Bangor is hosting a very special career and health fair next week, specifically aimed at Veterans. There are many valuable tools available to veterans to help them move forward. This event will offer information to Vets on how they can take advantage of the opportunities.

The three hour event will feature information on education and job training for veterans looking to re-enter the workforce, and healthcare information. PCHC’s Gail Kelly says there are some valuable tools available to veterans, like a new website called My Health Vet.

"My Health Vet is a program where the Veterans can sign up so that when they go to a center like PCHC, they will be able to have access to their records," Gail explained. "As it is now, a lot of our hospitals are interconnected and we can see the patients' records to be able to know what medications they may be on, things like that. But with the Veterans, it's different, we don't have access to the records. But with my health vet, they would have access and could let us know."

The Veterans Health and Career fair will be held at Rangeley Hall at Eastern Maine Community College on Tuesday, August 13th from 9 to noon. The event will kick off with a keynote address from Congressman Michael Michaud.
